The film is inspired by the aftermath of the Great Northern War. For many years war, famine and plague have plagued the nation. The protagonist of the mystery story is Jaan (Meelis Rämmeld), who is found on an unconscious beach. Jaan doesn’t remember his past. He is alien to himself and to the people around him. By chance, Jaan lives with a baron (Andres Lepik) in a local manor house where a horrific crime has taken place some time ago. Over time, hints of a mysterious stranger’s background and past deeds begin to appear. What to do when it turns out you’re someone you don’t want to be?
